SiteQUAKE: A Seismic Site Effect Software
From the University of Manitoba, eValorix is pleased to offer this new software. SiteQUAKE is a computational software developed mainly for 2D seismic site effect analyses, in the field of soil science and (geotechnical) civil engineering. The product benefits from a hybrid Finite Element/Boundary Element (FE/BE) numerical framework which can be widely used in various geotechnical engineering problems.
SiteQUAKE aims to numerically analyze the effect of topographic irregularities and geotechnical properties of soil deposits on seismic behavior of a site. Furthermore, the product can be used for the design, construction and rehabilitation planning of geostructures subject to quasi-static or dynamic loadings. Different geomechanical and geometrical aspects, e.g. various constitutive behaviours, soil surface and rocky bed topographies, saturation of soil medium and so on, can be taken into account in the analyses performed by SiteQUAKE.
Both academic and commercial licenses are available at eValorix.

Introducing, the Knowledge Mobilization Needs Assessment Survey Toolkit
In 2019, the University of Ottawa designed a knowledge mobilization needs assessment survey to understand the extent to which its researchers engage in knowledge mobilization, the barriers that limit their knowledge mobilization efforts and how the University could better support them. The goal was to use the results of the survey to adapt existing services and to develop new strategies to better support knowledge mobilization within institutions.
This toolkit will allow other organizations and academic institutions to undertake a knowledge mobilization needs assessment survey and to use the results of the survey to inform decisions and improvements in the organization’s knowledge mobilization support services. It contains guidelines, the survey questions and templates to adapt and use.
The toolkit is now available for free download at eValorix.
eValorix: for access to reliable public health information
Info or intox? Vaccination is dangerous for your health, okra kills 72% of cancer cells or wearing a mask reduces your oxygen level?
Information on illnesses, nutrition and vaccination are varied and their distribution on the internet can spread six times faster than any other information. Today, it is therefore increasingly difficult for the general public to verify the validity of the information that they find.
The result is a lot of myths and misinformation on a large number of social issues, and mainly in the health field. Although they are only shared by 8.5% of Internet users, “fake news” seems to fascinate readers, despite their lack of accuracy and the absence of an official source.
Since its creation, eValorix has worked with universities and health institutions to make available to the public, students and professionals, a catalogue of more than 2,000 products. All content is produced by researchers, whether in public health, medicine, geriatrics or even pediatrics.
In summary, before sharing or using information that will have an impact on your health and that of your loved ones, always remember to check the source.
