Description

In-Tray Exercise for the Position of Chief Commercial Officer in the United Arab Emirates: Abstract

In-Tray Exercise for the Position of Chief Commercial Officer in the United Arab Emirates is a case study by Budoor Al-Amoudi and Marie-France Waxin.

This case is a complete in-tray exercise such as those included in assessment centres for managerial positions. In this case, participants will assume the role of a U.S. chief commercial officer of a real estate company called Dubai Skyline, located in the United Arab Emirates.

The primary objective of this case is to prepare graduate students for assessment centres and selection tests for managerial positions and give them the opportunity to go through a complete in-tray exercise in class. The secondary objective is to discuss with them the characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of work samples in the selection process. The third objective is to introduce them to business practices in Arab countries. The case is designed to be taught in one class lasting two to three hours.
